What to expect from our private Arctic Spa experience in Levi, Lapland.
When most people think about visiting Lapland, they imagine huskies, reindeer, snowmobiles and the Northern Lights. But there is another experience that has been part of Finnish life for centuries.
The sauna.
For us, a Finnish sauna is much more than simply getting warm after a day outdoors. It is about slowing down, switching off and giving yourself permission to do absolutely nothing for a little while.
That feeling is exactly what inspired us to create the Foxfires Arctic Spa.

It all started with one simple idea
When we first visited Lapland as tourists, trying a traditional Finnish sauna was naturally on our list. We enjoyed it, but afterwards we both felt something was missing. After moving permanently to Levi in 2018, we began experiencing sauna culture as part of everyday Finnish life rather than as a tourist activity. The more time we spent in the sauna, the more we understood that it is not about luxury or rushing from one experience to another.
It is about simplicity - heat, silence, nature, time.
When we created Foxfires, the sauna was the very first thing we built. We wanted to build the kind of place we would genuinely choose to spend our own evenings.
More than a sauna
Our Arctic Spa is completely private.

When you book it, the entire space is yours for two hours. There are no strangers, no shared facilities and no time slots with other guests. Instead, you can move through the experience at your own pace. Warm yourself in the traditional wood-fired Finnish sauna. Cool down outside in the fresh Arctic air or, if you are feeling brave, in the snow. Relax in the outdoor hot tub while looking towards the surrounding forest. Light the fire in the cosy kota and simply enjoy being together.
There is no right way to experience it. Some guests spend most of their time in the sauna. Others never want to leave the hot tub. Many tell us that sitting quietly outside in sub-zero temperatures becomes one of the most memorable moments of their entire holiday.
Every detail has been chosen with care
Design has always been an important part of Foxfires. Everything we create begins with one question:

How will this make our guests feel?
From the moment you walk along the snowy path towards the spa, we want you to feel that you are entering somewhere special. The scent of burning wood. Soft lighting of fairy lights and candles. Natural materials. Fresh snow. Warm timber. The peaceful forest surrounding you.
Nothing is accidental. Every detail has been carefully considered to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
Why guests love it
After welcoming guests to our Arctic Spa for almost 10 years, one thing has surprised us. People rarely talk first about the hot tub or the sauna. Instead they tell us how they felt - relaxed, peaceful and present. Many say it became their favourite experience in Lapland because, for two hours, they forgot about everything else. If you would like to hear about the experience from our guests themselves, you can read their reviews on Google and Tripadvisor. In a holiday that often involves early mornings, activity schedules and chasing the Northern Lights, the Arctic Spa gives people permission to simply slow down.

Is our Arctic Spa for you?
Our Arctic Spa is ideal if you are looking for:
a private traditional Finnish sauna experience
a peaceful way to slow down during your Lapland holiday
an authentic experience away from busy public spas
time to reconnect with nature and each other
Whether you are celebrating something special or simply want to experience an important part of Finnish culture, we hope you leave feeling the same way we do every time we step out of the sauna - relaxed and happy. And already looking forward to coming back.

Planning your visit
Our Arctic Spa is available throughout the winter season by advance booking directly via our website. Because every session is private, availability is limited and many dates fill well in advance. If you are planning a winter holiday in Levi, we recommend reserving your preferred date as early as possible.
If our Arctic Spa is fully booked, or you would like to explore other sauna experiences in the area, you will find our recommendations and links to other saunas in Levi and around in Our Winter Guide to Levi Lapland.
